I’m quite at loss what to do here. For example in one of my particular class I have a female classmate who I’m interested in. Of course at first we talk about things regarding class but after those nice little academic small chats how do you become close friends? Should I just pop somnething out of the blue that is unrelated to academics? How should I ask her number or let’s say ask her to hang out?

I’m having bit of a trouble breaking the acquaintance->friends wall.
